West Country Equine Event

We had a really good day at the Bath and West Showground on Sunday for the West Country Equine Event. The four of us (Rebecca, Ronan, Duncan and I) were a bit worried we may be a bit rusty having not done any shows since the end of August, but a good rehearsal on Friday soon put paid to those worries, and both shows were fantastic! We tweaked both shows slightly and there was a definate improvement, so now we have to remember the changes for next year!

We're now into winter training, and although Tinker and Ronan are having well deserved rests, Rebecca and I have our work cut out preparing for next year. We've been busy doing plenty of mailouts so hopefully we'll be getting lots of bookings for next year - we'll keep you posted!!

Hope you and your horses are wrapped up for winter!

Frogham Fair and Emsworth Show

Well it was a couple of weekends ago now but our little mini tour of the south was my very favourite time of the whole season. The main reason for this was because I got to take Tinker along. First stop was Frogham Fair, in the New Forest. It was lovely seeing all the 'wild' ponies and donkeys wandering around as they pleased - we took lots of photos! Tinker's solo show debut went very well, and considering Rebecca and I had never swapped roles before it all went very smoothly!
After the show Duncan competed in their annual wheelbarrow race - pushing a whelbarrow with a dummy in it up a VERY steep hill (25%) as fast as you can. Although Duncan was just beaten on time (0.4 seconds!) we're convinced had there been a race off between first and second place he would have won!
After the race we took the boys out for a ride to explore a bit, they loved going out and about - and of course we took the camera!
On Sunday it was on to Emsworth Show, but as we had plenty of time to spare we decided to do a small detour to take the boys to the seaside! We finally found a beach and much to the amusement of all the holiday-makers we attempted to get the horses in the water. As neither of them had ever seen the sea before they took some convincing to go in - every time a wave broke over their hooves they jumped backwards! But they soon changed their minds and in we went! It was such fun - the boys loved it and were soon both swimming around and trotting and cantering in and out! We took lots of photos so make sure you have a look.
Monday was show day and once again Tinker did the first show. He went really well again - despite the fact he was having to contend with a miniature steam train alongside the arena! He really does seem to love the shows, so I'm very much looking forward to next year when he'll hopefuly be out and about a lot more!
Our busy summer season has now unfortunately come to a close, but what a fun way to end it! I'll keep you posted on all our Jive Pony news though!
Lots of love

Tysoe Flower Show

We were at Tysoe Flower Show on Saturday - and what a wet, wild and windy show it turned out to be, our luck with the sunshine definately ran out! The organisers told us it was the first time in twenty-six years it had rained on show day - it seemed to have saved the whole lot up for us! We got absolutley soaked during both shows, but despite this it was really good fun! Have a look at the photos to see just how wet it really was!

We were also filmed throughout the day by a two man crew - Jack and Dale - as soon as I know when and where you can watch the programme I'll be sure to let you know.

We're off on another mini tour this weekend - Frogham Fair in Wiltshire on Saturday and Emsworth Show in Hampshire on Monday. This time we're taking Tinker as well as Ronan, as most of the shows Tinker would have been doing this year were unfortunately cancelled, but we still want to get him out and about so he's coming too! It also means Ronan will have some company and won't have to work quite so hard! Rebecca and I are both a bit nervous about swapping roles for the first show but we've got plenty of practise planned for this week so I'm sure it'll all be fine!! I'll let you know how we got on...

Danson Summer Show

Well we thouht we were off to Kent but turned out to be going to Bexley Heath in South East London! But Danson Park was absolutely fantastic, with an enormous lake right next to the show ground, perfect for all the mozzies!
All our shows went really well, with Neil the Music Man excelling himself - it really makes a huge difference to the show!
As you can see from all the pictures the weather was once again fantastic - that's three shows in a row now!
Ronan was especially lucky - he got lots of presents and drawings from all his fans - to numerous to mention but seen in some of the photos! We also had lots of fun having a go at baking - there are some photos of that too - look out for our hedgehog rolls!
Our next show is another local one - Tysoe Flower Show - on Saturday, so we look forward to seeing you there!
Lots of love

Camelford Agricultural Show

We headed off to Cornwell on Tuesday for the 101st Camelford Show, which was set in the most beautiful surroundings with gorgeus views and fantastic weather - we felt spoilt all round!! Both the shows went really well with the exception of slightly erratic music. At one point during the second show we had no music whatsoever and finally resorted to asking the crowd to clap a rhythm for Becca to vault to! This they did brilliantly so thankyou very much if you were there clapping!

Duncan and Becca passed some of the time practising their rope spinning, have a look at the pictures to see for yourself!! There are also a couple of photos of the amazing wind turbines we passed - Duncan found them very hypnotic - no so good for lorry drivers!!

We're off to Danson in Kent tommorow (Friday) for an Oakleigh's Fair - we're hoping for more of this lovely sunshine! I'll let you know how we got on soon...

Cherington Flower Show

We've finally been blessed with some sunshine! It was a beautiful day on Saturday and Jive Pony performed at one of our very local shows in Cherington. All the audience were superb - really getting into the spirit of the show - so thankyou if you were there! Everyone was on top form, especially Ronan who performed his rumba brilliantly - he really does love a good crowd! Click on the link below to see a few more photos from the show...

Anyway, we're off to Cornwell tomorrow for the Camelford Agricultural Show, where hopefully the sun will shine! I'll let you know how we get on!
